The Orphanage

Sunday after we arrived on the island of La Gonave, Robin, one of the missionaries, offered to take us to the orphanage for a couple of hours to visit the kids.  We trekked through the city of Anse-A-Galets and up a steep rock and dirt road to get to the orphanage.  There we were split into two groups; half of us went upstairs to see the girls, and the other half stayed downstairs with the boys.   Here are some of the pictures.  (More will be added at a later time.  I had a lot of computer issues, so I didn't have time to upload many.  Thanks for your patience.)

Monday- Thursday we planned to have the kids come down to the Wesleyan compound where we are staying  each afternoon.  Today (Monday) that didn't work out because the kids weren't ready, so we went back to the orphanage.  When the kids come here we plan to have about thirty kids kids each day (about half, split into older kids and younger kids).  We have plenty of crafts, games, and snacks for them, so hopefully it works out the rest of the week.

Please pray we will be able to minister to these kids as much as they are ministering to us.  Sunday they sang "This Is The Day", "I've Got the Joy", and "Father Abraham", in both Creole and then English.  It was an incredible blessing, and all of us have been greatly impacted by these kids.
